Jen has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Child Development and Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in Psychology from Chico State.  She has been teaching since 1987.  Jen began as a student teacher for Special Education at Chico State.  She has been a Lab Teacher at Chico State, Bing School at Stanford University, and Sonoma State University.  She was a substitute teacher and then was hired as a Teacher in the Heather Room.  She graduated from the Program for Infant Toddler Caregivers Institute.  She has a lifetime Children's Center Supervisory Permit.
